A powerful piece: Arts Tweet Up!

Hello! Would you like to be on my Arts Tweet Up list?

I will send invites for cool events I’m attending, or promoting. It will likely be 1-2 events per month, and I’ll be transparent when it’s pure fun or outreach work-related.

*To be clear, these are not live-tweets when we attend performance, but a fun way to meet the people behind your favorite tweets & help artist with word-of-type!*

I’ll move these invites to mailchimp soon, but want to keep it personal at first! Sign up here to get on the mailchimp list. If you’d rather hear just via email, or don’t want to be on the list, just reply and I will comply.

First up! I’m winding down my outreach work with Steve Julian on his world premiere play “What Kind of God?”. We open this Saturday. You probably know that I can’t work on a project, especially doing outreach and marketing, unless I feel really strongly that an artist has something important to say (remember “Gracie & Rose” by Anastasia Coon last summer?). Steve has a passion for telling stories of those silenced by people in power, and created a trilogy project “Silence No One.” The first of these plays is “What Kind of God?”.

This is not a condemnation of the Church, but intended to begin a conversation. You can read more on his blog entry here.

Here are the basic details w/ links for more information. And you know me, I’ll take lots of photos and let people know about your work and upcoming projects via social networks and blogs if you attend.

How many shepherds does it take to keep one lamb safe?

WHAT KIND OF GOD?  explores the chasm between belief and trust in the Catholic Church. A gifted boy pleads for love. His only family member cries out for safe passage. One priest turns a deaf ear while another wages war against his own demon. How can any victim fight the world’s largest religion and come out whole? How many shepherds does it take to keep one lamb safe?
